Syrian lawmakers demand the US end its military presence.
Khaled al-Aboud, a Syrian MP and secretary of the People's Council (Parliament), argues that the US must end its military presence in Syria as soon as possible, as it has lost all meaning.

"The US cannot keep its troops in Syria because they gain nothing from it," Al-Aboud said in an interview with Sputnik.
He explained that the previous view was that the US military was in Syria for the purpose of dividing the country. "However, we are now closing that chapter far behind us, and there is no longer a need to keep these troops in the region," said MP Khaled al-Aboud.
Commenting on the upcoming Russia-US summit, he suggested that Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump discuss the outcome of recent events in Syria.
"The Russian president will attend the conference with a wealth of achievements, both his own and those of his allies, while Trump will have nothing," he added.
