(Baonghean.vn) - In the hot season, air conditioners become a popular product in many families, however, not everyone knows how to use the fan most effectively without wasting a lot of electricity. Below are some tips on how to use the air conditioner properly and save electricity.

1. Place the fan in an airy, windy place

The air conditioner fan has the function of cooling by balancing the humidity of the environment. When using it, you do not need to close the door like when installing an air conditioner. You just need to place the fan in a ventilated, spacious place and the fan will cool effectively.

The air intake side (back side) of the fan should be placed in a spacious place, easy to catch a lot of wind, minimum distance from obstacles is 20 cm.

Note: Do not place objects that obstruct the fan's air intake and circulation, otherwise it will reduce cooling efficiency and waste electricity.

2. Only use enhancement functions such as ion and ozone generation when necessary.

In addition to cooling function, air conditioner fan also has ion and ozone generating function.

The fan's ion generating function helps clean the air, because dust particles in the air carry a positive charge. When they encounter negative ions, they will be attracted and fall down, helping to purify the air.

The fan's ozone generating function has a bactericidal effect, due to the strong oxidizing properties of ozone, when entering the air it will destroy harmful bacteria without affecting the user's health.

Although it has such effects, if you regularly turn on these functions, it will consume a significant amount of electricity. Therefore, you should only use it when necessary, preferably about 2-3 times a week to filter the air and disinfect your home.

3. Pour enough water into the container

You should fill the tank with water about 1/2 full or more, operating the fan without water will also affect the durability of the pump and reduce the life of the fan.

Pouring too much water can easily cause overflow or leakage, increasing the risk of fire when the air conditioner fan is operating.

Note: Do not pour perfume or other aromatic liquids into the tank for scenting purposes. They may clog the cooling pads, water pipes/hose or even the pump, causing damage to the fan.

If you want to create a scent for the room, you can place scented wax in front of the fan so that the scent spreads into the air in the room with the fan's airflow.

4. Clean the air conditioner fan regularly

Users can clean the air conditioner fan themselves without the need for technicians. Every month, you should clean the dust filter, cooling plate and water tank 1-2 times depending on the dusty environment, so that they operate smoothly without dirt and increase durability.

In some cases, the air conditioner fan has an unpleasant smell, which may be due to the new fan having a smell of glue that binds the cooling pads, which will disappear after the first use. If not, the fan's cooling pads may not be dried, you can turn off the cooling mode for about 30 minutes, the fan will dry the cooling pads and the unpleasant smell will disappear.

5. Start Cooler mode

When starting the fan, choose Cooler mode: Put cold water in the water tank, add dry ice or ice cubes, wait for 15 minutes, the room temperature will decrease and increase the best cooling effect.

After exposing the fan to direct wind for about 15 - 20 minutes, choose the rotation mode to cool and ventilate the entire room.

In addition to manual humidification, it is recommended to combine the use of Humidity Control mode to control humidity and the ion generator function (if available) to clean the air.

6. Unplug the power cord when not using the fan.

This is the most unexpected thing. You think that after pressing the shortcut key, your device will not use any electricity, but because it is still connected to the power source, electrical devices still consume a certain amount of electricity.

Therefore, if you want to save electricity, do not forget to unplug the device's power cord from the outlet.
