Forest fire in Dien Chau has spread to Yen Thanh district
(Baonghean.vn) - The fire this afternoon, July 2, in Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district (Nghe An) has been controlled, however the fire has spread to the forest in Duc Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.
At about 5:00 p.m. on July 2, a fire in a pine forest in Hamlet 15, Dien Yen Commune, Dien Chau District (Nghe An) partially spread to the pine forest in Duc Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuc - Head of Yen Thanh District Forest Protection Department said: Immediately after the fire in Hamlet 15, Dien Yen Commune, Dien Chau District (Nghe An) spread to Yen Thanh, we mobilized a force of over 300 people, including forest rangers, police and local people to clear the ground cover to create a white firebreak of over 3 km in Duc Thanh Commune. Thanks to that, we were able to control part of the forest fire.
Currently, the Forest Protection Department has directed 2 Mobile Forest Protection Teams to support fire fighting in Duc Thanh. There are 2 fire spots, 1 has been controlled, and the remaining 1 fire spot is still being put out.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuc added: After the forest fire is controlled, the forest rangers will coordinate with the militia and self-defense force of Duc Thanh commune to stay on duty all night to watch the forest fire and promptly handle any new incidents that may occur.
