Sunroof, the misery of luxury car drivers in hot weather

Panoramic sunroofs on some luxury cars or Korean cars are considered high-end equipment but cause suffering for many car owners in Vietnam every time the weather is hot.

With the addition of a panoramic sunroof, the car will become more luxurious and stylish.

Panorama sunroof is quite popularly equipped on some luxury cars today. People can even find this equipment on popular car models such as Suzuki Vitara, Hyundai Tucson, Santa Fe, Sonata, Kia Sorento, Sedona... For luxury cars, some cars also have this feature such as Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes E300 AMG, Mercedes GLC300...

With the addition of a panoramic sunroof, the car will become more luxurious, more stylish and bring more light to the cabin. In Vietnam, although the sunroof is rarely opened, this equipment is also very attractive to customers, it is like a standard for the high-class and luxury of a car.

The sunroof makes the interior more luxurious but also has disadvantages in hot weather.

However, in addition to many advantages, this feature in Vietnam still has a disadvantage when it comes to hot weather. Usually, these types of sunroofs only have a thin curtain to block the sunlight, so in hot summer weather, the car interior becomes much hotter than cars with traditional roofs. The temperature in the car's cabin will be even hotter if people park the car outside at noon. At that time, getting into the car is a torture because the cabin is no different from... a furnace. For cars painted black, the temperature inside the car is even more terrible.

To overcome this drawback, some car owners have used the best heat-insulating film for the glass part of the car hood, to minimize the temperature as well as the sunlight shining directly from above. This method will be quite effective if the heat-insulating film used is of good quality, reputable brand and not... fake. Some people are even not satisfied with this solution, forcing them to "make" an additional cover to cover the entire sunroof every time summer comes or the weather is hot.

A Mercedes owner had to use this method to cool down his car.

In the Thai market, where the weather is often hot, very few cars are equipped with a regular sunroof, let alone a panoramic sunroof that extends from the front to the back. Even luxury cars in the Thai market are rarely equipped, except for the super high-end models. Most cars in this country are also covered with the darkest heat-insulating film, so it is not strange when you go out on the street and see many cars with blacked-out windows, unable to see anything inside.

With the weather often hot like the Southern region, those who want to buy a car should consider whether to choose a car model with a panoramic sunroof or not. Although it is inconvenient in hot weather, this equipment is still a feature worth considering because it has many other advantages, affirming the class of a car.

If you know how to choose a heat-resistant solution for your sunroof, this concern will no longer exist.
