7 people causing trouble at Binh Thuan People's Committee headquarters were prosecuted

The first defendants involved in causing trouble in Binh Thuan will soon be brought to trial for deterrence and education.

On July 3, Phan Thiet City People's Procuracy completed the indictment.Nguyen Dinh Vu (41 years old) and 6 other defendantsabout behaviorPublic disorder.

According to the indictment, on the night of June 11, Vu and a group of people gathered in front of the Binh Thuan People's Committee headquarters and threw rocks, petrol bombs... at police on duty.

When dispersed by the police, VuHe carried a 12 kg gas cylinder to the middle of Tran Hung Dao bridge (about 50 meters from the gate of the provincial People's Committee headquarters) and continued shouting. When he turned on the gas and was about to light it on fire, the police rushed in to stop him and arrest him.

The indictment stated that the defendants' acts of disturbing public order violated public safety, caused insecurity and disorder, and caused panic among the people, so they needed to be severely punished to deter and educate.

On the same day, Tuy Phong District People's Procuracy also prosecuted 10 defendants for the act.Disturbing public orderandResisting law enforcement officersoccurred in Phan Ri Cua town.

On June 10 and 11, under the pretext of protesting the Special Economic Zone Law project, hundreds of people went to the Binh Thuan People's Committee, shouting, burning cars, and vandalizing government offices.Many extremists also blocked vehicles on Highway 1, burned dozens of vehicles, and attacked police, injuring nearly 60 police officers.

Dozens of people have been prosecuted..Binh Thuan police are continuing to investigate and screen the remaining people.
