Chairman Tran Thanh Man: "The Front must demonstrate its role in gathering and promoting solidarity"

Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Vice Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front co-chaired the conference. Attending the conference were the Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Chief of Office, Head of the Department in charge of personnel organization of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.

Also attending the conference, on the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man affirmed that in recent times, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has actively and proactively implemented effectively the proposed programs and plans. Many localities have innovative and creative ways of working, helping the Front's work achieve many outstanding and practical results, contributing significantly to the implementation of political tasks of each locality and the country.

The Fatherland Front at all levels has closely followed political tasks, focused on propaganda work, thoroughly grasped the implementation of the Party's Directives and Resolutions, promoted the implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo; Resolution 4 of the 12th Central Committee;... In particular, implementing Resolution No. 18 dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Central Committee on "Some issues of continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently",The Central Front has implemented the Job Position Project, agreed to eliminate the Department level in staff units and piloted the organization of examinations to recruit leaders at the Department level.

Many campaigns and emulation movements, especially activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate Spring, take care of the poor during Tet, and activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation, have been effectively implemented.

Programs for social supervision, criticism, and prevention and fight against corruption, waste, and thrift practice have been actively implemented. The work of supervision, criticism, and handling of petitions, complaints, and denunciations has seen more obvious changes; coordination has been made in monitoring, handling, and resolving petitions in a number of specific cases.

The Fatherland Front at all levels is interested in organizing practical activities for ethnic and religious work such as:grasp the situation among ethnic groups and religions; organize visits, give gifts, send congratulatory letters on the occasion of Buddha's Birthday, Easter; the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Khmer people... contributing to strengthening solidarity and connection among ethnic groups and religions, consolidating the great national unity bloc.

Assessing the conference as a premise for implementing the following activities, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man suggested that it is necessary to evaluate the good and bad aspects, lessons learned; to clearly identify the key tasks and solutions in the coming time, especially to overcome the limitations of the past time, to propose the Action Program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the 2019-2024 term, clearly identify the key tasks, closely follow the Party's guidelines, the State's laws and policies, and meet the requirements and aspirations of all classes of people.

“How can the Front, in the coming period, truly demonstrate its role in gathering, expanding, and promoting the great national unity bloc; strongly innovate the content, methods, and organization of activities; cooperate and improve the effectiveness of the Front's work; for a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization?”-Comrade Tran Thanh Man emphasized.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh gave an overview of Nghe An province, emphasizing the role of the local Fatherland Front Committees at all levels.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nghe An province has promoted its role of political consultation, unifying actions between organizations, and organizing many activities to unite and gather the people. Of which, two national target programs stand out: new rural areas and poverty reduction, with two breakthrough contents: eliminating dilapidated houses and increasing income. With the Tet for the poor program last year, Nghe An mobilized 65 billion VND.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh added that, with the desire for the Fatherland Front to promote its role as a representative of the people, Party committees at all levels have assigned the Fatherland Front to chair dialogue programs between the Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council, Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level with the people, periodically every 6 months, to listen to the people's thoughts and aspirations, promptly resolving problems right at the grassroots level.

In that spirit, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh hopes that cadres working for the Front must stay close to the grassroots, become active factors, "people among the people", promote prestige, thereby implementing emulation movements and extensive development campaigns, aiming at practical benefits for people's lives.

Also at the conference, delegates discussed and gave opinions on the basic contents of preparing for the organization of the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, towards the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, thus focusing on discussing and giving opinions on the following contents: Draft Report on the results of the Front's work in the first 6 months of 2018 and key tasks of the Front's work in the last 6 months of 2018; Draft Guidelines for building the Political Report of the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels; Outline of the Political Report of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Submission on the draft Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (amended).
