Nghe An rewards outstanding units in drug crime solving
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 5, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Provincial Police to organize an award ceremony for outstanding achievements of Department PC47, the Police of Thanh Chuong, Tuong Duong, Nghia Dan districts and related units in implementing the peak period of the Action Month against drugs in 2018.

During the Anti-Drug Action Month, Nghe An Provincial Police discovered and arrested 231 cases, 276 drug criminals, reaching 220% of the target assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, confiscating nearly 50 kg of various drugs, 50 drug paraphernalia, 2 military guns, 16 bullets, 7 homemade guns and many other related exhibits.

Notably, in just the past week, the police of various units and localities have made outstanding achievements, breaking up 5 major cases, arresting 8 subjects, seizing 24.5 heroin cakes, 5 kg of crystal meth, 250 synthetic drug pills, 1 gun, K59, 7 bullets, 2 pepper sprays, 2 cars, and 100 million VND.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau said that in recent times, the drug crime situation has become complicated, especially after the Ministry of Public Security launched a series of attacks on large drug gangs in the North. Drug crimes will move and operate more and more sophisticatedly and recklessly. Therefore, professional units of Nghe An Provincial Police need to be proactive, resourceful, and well implement the instructions of superiors on drug crime prevention and control, ensuring security and order in Nghe An province.
In recognition of the outstanding achievements in drug crime prevention and control of Nghe An Provincial Police, the Provincial People's Committee awarded 120 million VND; the Provincial Police Director awarded 40 million VND to units participating in breaking up recent major drug cases.

Speaking at the award ceremony, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised the initiative, bravery and intelligence of the officers and soldiers of Nghe An Provincial Police in the fight against drug crimes, which has achieved outstanding achievements.
He requested that officers and soldiers of Nghe An Provincial Police continue to promote the achieved results in the coming time, advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to direct the fight against drug crimes, ensure security and order in the province; expand cases and special projects to discover and strictly handle violators according to the law to prevent and deter; units must comply with the principle of absolute safety for officers, soldiers and people in the process of fighting crimes; the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee will continue to pay attention to directing and creating favorable conditions for the work of preventing and combating drug crimes to achieve the best results.
