Arrested 2 young men selling fake gold, "stealing" more than 50 million VND
(Baonghean.vn) - After being arrested in Ha Tinh City, two young men from Hai Phong confessed to having sold fake gold at a gold shop in Nghe An, taking more than 50 million VND.
On July 5, Ha Tinh City Police (Ha Tinh) handed over Nguyen Duc Cuong (born in 1996, residing in Thanh To Ward, Hai An District, Hai Phong City) and Le Tung Lam (born in 1992, residing in Minh Khai Ward, Hong Bang District, Hai Phong) along with evidence and motorbike to Nghi Loc District Police (Nghe An) for further investigation.

Before that, at around 9am on July 4, the two young men rode a motorbike with license plate 35B1-675.80 to Ngoc Ha gold and silver shop (Nam Ha ward, Ha Tinh city). One young man entered the shop, took off his necklace, and said the necklace weighed 1 tael of gold and wanted to sell it urgently.
The owner of Ngoc Ha gold shop suspected that these were scammers, so he carefully asked the technician to check. When checking, he realized that this was a fake necklace, so the owner shouted for everyone to surround and arrest them.
The young man snatched the necklace to escape. At that time, the Nam Ha Ward Police team was patrolling the Ha Tinh market area, when they heard the shouts, they split into two groups to arrest both subjects.
Through the investigation, Lam and Cuong confessed that they had previously successfully sold fake gold at Hoang Son gold and silver shop (Nghi Loc district, Nghe An) on the morning of July 3, 2018.
On the evening of July 5, the owner of Hoang Son gold and silver shop said that on the morning of July 3, the two subjects came on a motorbike with license plate 35B1 - 675.80 to swindle and sell gold, appropriating more than 50 million VND. Currently, the owner of Hoang Son gold shop has reported and worked with Nghi Loc District Police about the above case of being swindled and appropriating more than 50 million VND.
