The female student who presented flowers to President Trump is competing in the Miss Vietnam pageant.

Pham Ngoc Ha My is known as the female student who presented flowers to US President Donald Trump during his visit to Vietnam. Born in 1996, Ha My graduated from Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and is currently a student at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. She is fluent in both English and French.

After making a striking appearance at the welcoming ceremony for the US head of state, Ha My was sought after by the online community, but she remained very private, only reappearing at the Miss Vietnam 2018 competition.

The Miss Vietnam 2018 pageant continued its preliminary round for the Northern region in Hanoi on the morning of July 8th. Many contestants arrived early, dressed in elaborately embellished ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress).

The preliminary round in the North attracted many familiar faces. Pictured is beauty queen Vu Thi Tuyet Trang, who was a Top 15 finalist in Miss Universe Vietnam 2017.

Tuyết Trang possesses a delicate and beautiful face, considered suitable for Miss Vietnam. She graduated from the Foreign Trade University and currently works as an editor at VTV Television.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nu possesses the advantage of sweet beauty and a radiant smile. The beauty from Nghe An province previously competed in Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 and reached the top 10, winning the "Most Beautiful Face" award.

Ngoc Nu is 24 years old and 1.65m tall. She was also rumored to be dating footballer Phan Van Duc, but both denied the rumors.

Le Thanh Tu - a top 15 finalist in Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 - wore a striking blue dress to register for Miss Vietnam 2018.

Contestant Cong Le Minh Huong captivated with her innocent beauty. She studies at the Academy of Journalism and Communication and was the first runner-up in the Miss Vietnamese Student Charming 2015 contest.

Ha Thanh Van, born in 1993, has a charming face. She was a finalist in the Miss Vietnamese Women Through Photography 2012 contest and was the first runner-up at the Foreign Trade University of Hanoi in 2013.

Contestant Hoang Thi Bich Ngoc was born in 1999 and was the first runner-up in the Miss Vietnamese Women Through Photography 2017 contest.

Pham Ngoc Khanh Linh passed the preliminary round in the South, but due to a conflicting national exam, she requested permission from the organizers to move to the North. The 18-year-old beauty is the younger sister of supermodel Pham Thuy Linh and runner-up Pham Phuong Linh, and has won four national gold medals in Taekwondo.

On the afternoon of July 8th, the organizers will announce the results of the contestants who passed the preliminary round. Afterwards, they will travel to Cua Lo, Nghe An to prepare for the Northern regional final round.
