On July 9, a source from the Tra An ward police, Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city said that passenger BQĐ.K. (22 years old, residing in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) had just written a commitment not to repeat the act of bringing illegal support tools on the plane.

Previously, at 8:40 a.m. on July 6, at the security screening area of ​​Can Tho International Airport, airport security forces discovered a USB stick with an integrated electric baton in passenger K's carry-on luggage.

At the time of inspection, the passenger could not present relevant documents. The security force of Can Tho International Airport coordinated with the representative of the Southern Airport Authority (SAC) in Can Tho to hand over to Tra An Ward police for handling according to their authority.

Through working, the representative of the Can Tho Airport Authority determined that passenger K. traveled from Can Tho to Da Nang on a VietJet Air flight.

Checking the USB device with an electric baton integrated into it of passenger K., Tra An ward police discovered that the amount of electricity released from the device was relatively strong and could stun a normal person.

Passenger K. declared that he bought the USB stick with integrated electric baton online and was not aware that it was a prohibited item to bring on board the plane.

According to the law on weapons and support tools, if you carry weapons and support tools without a license to use them, you will be arrested. Individuals and organizations that buy or use support tools must be licensed by the competent authority.
