(Baonghean.vn) - The Northern final round of the Miss Vietnam 2018 contest will take place from July 10 to July 24 in Cua Lo town. According to the schedule, the contestants will participate in accompanying activities at many famous destinations in Nghe An such as Uncle Ho's hometown, Sen Village, Thanh Chuong tea island, etc.

This information was stated at a meeting between the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the Organizing Committee of the Miss Vietnam 2018 contest on the afternoon of July 12.

At the meeting, the Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest said that, with the spirit of linking the Miss Vietnam contest with promoting local cultural identity and tourism, the art performances at the final round of the Northern competition (taking place on the night of July 22 at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo town) will be imbued with the material of Nghe Tinh folk songs - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

In addition, the Northern final round will have many accompanying activities to take contestants to famous destinations in Nghe An. It is expected that 40 contestants will perform incense and flower offerings at Kim Lien Relic Site (Nam Dan); participate in folk singing exchanges at Uncle Ho's hometown of Sen Village; learn how to pick tea and chat with locals at Thanh Chuong tea island; clean up the environment at Cua Lo beach...

Notably, the organizing committee is surveying locations to build a bridge of love, helping local people to have more convenient transportation and trade, and to limit risks during the rainy and flood season. It is known that within the framework of the Miss Vietnam 2018 contest, 10 bridges will be built in many localities across the country.

At the meeting, the representative of the coordinating unit reported on the progress of logistics and program production. Accordingly, the stages of sound, lighting, LED screens, etc. have been prepared and are ready to move to the coastal town of Cua Lo. However, there is currently weather forecast information about storms during the activities, so the organizing committee has discussed contingency plans to proactively respond, ensuring the competition takes place safely.

The contest organizers also made a number of proposals to the People's Committee of Nghe An province regarding issues of stage space, backup power, fire prevention and fighting, security and order control forces, medical teams, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong pledged that Nghe An province will create all favorable conditions for the Northern final round of the Miss Vietnam 2018 contest to take place successfully. He assigned tasks to relevant departments and branches to promote their responsibilities in coordinating with the program's organizing committee; at the same time, emphasizing that the contest is an opportunity to promote the cultural identity and tourism of Cua Lo coastal town in particular and Nghe An province in general./.
