On July 11, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the 2018 national high school graduation exam scores and the score distribution for each subject. At the 2018 University and College Admissions Consulting Day event held on July 15, many candidates were interested in the benchmark scores for the police and military sectors.
Most of the questions want to know with the scores that candidates have, what is the possibility of passing the entrance exam to police and military schools? Last year, there were candidates who scored 30 points in 3 subjects but still failed because they lost priority points. Will this happen again this year?
The quota for female admission to military schools is very small. |
According to Captain Nguyen Manh Tuan - Admissions Secretary of the Training Department, Ministry of Public Security, because this year's score distribution in all groups is inclined towards the low side, it is predicted that the admission scores for the Police schools may decrease compared to last year. The decrease will be more or less depending on each group.
In addition, the opportunity for female students to study in the police force will be very limited, as each major does not recruit more than 10% of female candidates.
Colonel Vu Xuan Tien - Head of the Secretariat, Military Admissions Board, Ministry of National Defense - gave a note to candidates: Candidates who want to register for military schools must pass the preliminary selection to be eligible for admission.
Currently, many candidates register for military schools but do not pass the preliminary selection. These candidates will not be eligible for admission to military schools. Colonel Tien advises candidates to adjust their wishes to other majors.
In the 2018 enrollment period, the enrollment quota for the People's Public Security Academy (CAND) this year has decreased sharply, with only 1,192 enrollment quotas for 5 academies, a decrease of more than 300 enrollment quotas compared to last year.
This year, there are 5 police academies and universities enrolling students: People's Security Academy, People's Police Academy, People's Security University, People's Police University and Fire Prevention and Fighting University.
The two universities, People's Public Security Logistics Technical University and People's Public Security Political Academy, will not enroll undergraduate students in 2018.
Because the 2018 enrollment quota of police schools has decreased compared to last year, while the number of candidates applying to these schools is still very large, so if the standard score decreases, it will only decrease slightly, not fluctuate much.
