(Baonghean.vn) - The summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump has proven that global issues can be solved through dialogue. That is the comment of Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz posted on Twitter on July 17.

"The meeting in Helsinki is a sign that global tensions can be resolved through dialogue," the Austrian chancellor wrote on Twitter, adding: "Expanding cooperation between the two great powers Russia and the United States is especially important to ensure nuclear disarmament and a peaceful solution to the conflict in Syria, while protecting security in Israel."

The first official meeting between the two leaders of Russia and the United States was held in Helsinki, Finland on July 16. The one-on-one meeting between Putin and Trump lasted more than 2 hours.

The Russian delegation includes Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov and Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov. On the US side, accompanying Mr. Trump in this meeting includes US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and US security adviser John Bolton.
