Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee quickly announced the situation of storm No. 3
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 19, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong quickly informed the delegates of the Provincial People's Council and a large number of voters about the situation of storm No. 3 that just made landfall in Nghe An.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that storm No. 3 (Son Tinh storm) between 10pm and midnight on July 18 made landfall directly on the mainland of the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, with the focus on Nghe An. In Nghe An, the focus of wind and heavy rain was in Quynh Luu and Dien Chau districts. The rainfall on the night of July 18 was heavy, about 250 mm, strong winds of level 7, level 8, gusts above level 8, on Hon Ngu island there were gusts of level 9.
According to the synthesis up to now, in Nghe An province, the area of rice and crops flooded is 12,500 hectares, the number of flooded households is about 150 households, some households in dangerous areas must be evacuated.
All boats have been called by localities to dock, anchor safely, and strictly follow the sea ban.
"Because preparation and prevention work was relatively good and relatively proactive, the overall damage was not large," said the head of the provincial People's Committee.
Up to this point, the whole province has not recorded any damage to people or livestock or poultry. Particularly, the flooded rice and crop areas, especially in Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, including Que Phong district due to heavy rains, affecting some roads and some cultivated areas, are currently being focused on drainage and flood control.
After quickly informing voters, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that in the coming days, especially on July 19-21, it is forecasted that there will continue to be moderate to heavy rain in Nghe An.
