Awarding the "Brave Youth" badge to Captain Nguyen Dinh Tai

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 19, the leader of the Nghe An Border Guard Command said that the Central Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union issued a decision to award the "Brave Youth" badge to Captain Nguyen Dinh Tai for his brave actions in capturing criminals, contributing to ensuring social order, security and safety.

Authorized by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Major General Phung Quoc Tuan - Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard visited and awarded the "Brave Youth" badge to Captain Nguyen Dinh Tai (reconnaissance officer, Drug and Crime Prevention Department of the Nghe An Border Guard), who is currently being treated at the 108 Central Military Hospital.

On this occasion, Major General Phung Quoc Tuan-Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard; Major General Le Nhu Duc-The Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Border Guard and representatives of the leaders of the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention, the Office of the Command, the Propaganda Department, the Youth Department, the Women's Department, and the Border Guard Trade Union Department visited and presented gifts to continue to encourage comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai to overcome difficulties during the treatment process.

Previously, on the morning of June 28, in Khanh Thanh area (Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province), the joint forces of the Northern Drug and Crime Prevention Task Force, the Border Guard Drug and Crime Prevention Department, in coordination with the Nghe An Border Guard Drug and Crime Prevention Department, organized an ambush and successfully fought against a drug case from abroad into Vietnam.

During the process of surrounding and controlling the subject, the working group was immediately shot repeatedly by their accomplices at the task force to break the siege. The incident caused Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Tai, a drug reconnaissance officer of the Nghe An Border Guard Command, to be hit by two bullets in the abdomen and Major Nguyen Manh Hung, a drug reconnaissance officer of the Border Guard Drug and Crime Prevention Department, to be hit by one bullet in the shoulder.

Despite being injured, Major Nguyen Manh Hung and First Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Tai still resolutely held the subject down so that their teammates could control and arrest Vu Ba Xenh (born 1979), a teacher at Tay Son Primary School, from Huoi Giang 2 village, Tay Son commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province.

Seized evidence included 20 heroin cakes, 7kg of crystal meth, 12,000 meth pills, 1 gun, 15 bullets and 1 mobile phone.

Immediately afterwards, the two injured officers were transferred to Military Hospital 4 for intensive treatment. Major Nguyen Manh Hung's health is now stable. Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Tai, due to his severe injuries, was transferred to Hanoi for further treatment.

Previously, the Party Committee and Command of the Nghe An Border Guard organized a study session on the bravery in the fight against crime of the PCMT&TP force in general and comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai in particular.

At the same time, mobilize officers and soldiers to donate material support, encourage spirit, help comrade Tai overcome difficulties, quickly recover to continue working.

It is known that in recent days, organizations and individuals have donated nearly 100 million VND to help the family of comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai.

In recognition of comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai's brave and determined spirit in fighting against drug crimes, the Border Guard Command has decided to promote him from Lieutenant to Captain and is currently working on a proposal to award him the First Class Military Exploit Medal.
