People's Council delegates question "commanders" of the Industry and Trade and Electricity sectors

(Baonghean.vn) - The exchanges took place on the afternoon of July 19 at the question and answer session at the 6th session - Provincial People's Council term XVII (term 2016-2021). According to the assessment, the working session demonstrated an open and democratic spirit.

Here, many delegates questioned the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade and the Electricity sector of Nghe An about two key groups of issues. These were the consequences arising as well as the operation of hydropower projects in the area in recent times and the shortcomings of the power grid infrastructure that affected people's lives.

According to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, there are currently 32 hydropower projects in the province, concentrated in the western districts. Previously, the province also withdrew 15 projects because they did not meet the requirements.

Questioning the Ministry of Industry and Trade, delegates requested a long-term solution for households that had given up land for hydropower projects for resettlement. In addition, some delegates also reflected on the environmental pollution, lack of production land and domestic water in areas with hydropower projects:

Regarding the issue of power grid infrastructure, especially rural and mountainous electricity, delegates all agreed that there are currently many shortcomings. That is, the power system is both lacking and weak. The handover of power grid infrastructure is facing many difficulties, while the system of power lines and poles has seriously degraded, threatening the lives and property of the people. There are also many problems in the use of electricity such as: citizens of Vinh city but have to share the power lines of Nghi Loc and Cua Lo districts. The overload has caused difficulties for customers consuming electricity:

Continuing to clarify the handover of the grid infrastructure to Nghe An Electricity Company, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien said that according to calculations when handing over the grid, the total value of the system is 500 billion VND but Nghe An Electricity Company only has to pay 31 billion VND. Therefore, it is recommended that the Electricity industry implement this soon to ensure the rights of customers and people.
