Mr. Hoang Sam, a shrimp farmer in Mai Giang 1 hamlet, Quynh Bang commune, said that the second crop of shrimp is often very difficult to raise because the weather changes between hot and rainy, so diseases arise a lot. If you do not have experience in farming, it is difficult to succeed. Like other households, in early June DL, he started to release the second crop of shrimp on an area of 1 hectare divided into 3 ponds. In each pond, he released 150,000 - 200,000 shrimp seeds. Up to now, after 40 days of care, the shrimp have grown well, reaching 170 shrimp/kg.
"During the rainy season, a lot of algae grows in the pond, so it is necessary to kill algae, increase water pumping, and clean the pond regularly. Especially this season, the air is often cold, so shrimp grow slowly, so it is necessary to increase the shrimp's resistance so that the shrimp can grow well" - Mr. Sam shared.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Trang, a shrimp farmer in An Hoa commune, during the rainy and stormy season, white-leg shrimp often suffer from diseases caused by viruses and bacteria such as: truncated antennae, worn legs, ulcers... Therefore, shrimp farmers need to reinforce pond banks, increase water circulation, sprinkle lime to treat the environment and create beneficial bacteria in the pond for shrimp to grow.
Thanks to proactive measures to prevent shrimp diseases during the rainy season, at the end of the season, Mr. Trang's family harvested a high yield; after deducting expenses, the profit was from 500 - 700 million VND/crop.

Mr. Dau Duc Nam - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quynh Luu district said that in the erratic weather conditions, it is easy to cause some dangerous diseases in shrimp. If people do not take the initiative to prevent, shrimp can easily get sick. To prevent shrimp, in addition to ensuring a reasonable water level in the pond, people need to use lime powder to treat the water in the pond or spread it on the bank; use lime bags hung at the source of water supply to limit the spread of disease.
In particular, people can apply the method of raising shrimp by feeding garlic to increase resistance, can prevent hepatopancreatic disease and white feces. At the same time, this method can release waste, avoid disease for shrimp.
