At the Ceremony to announce the Resolution of Lao Cai People's Council on the establishment of Lao Cai Department of Transport and Construction on the basis of merging the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction held on the morning of July 23, the new Department's Board of Directors was introduced in the presence of a large number of officers and employees.

Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee awarded the appointment decision to the new Department leadership.

The leadership of the Department of Transport and Construction of Lao Cai province includes 1 Director and 5 Deputy Directors, appointed from the Director of the Department of Construction and 5 Deputy Directors of the former Departments of Transport and Construction, with a term of appointment of 5 years.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Lao Cai province, the merger of the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction was carried out based on the spirit of Resolution 39 of the Politburo and Resolution 18 of the Central Committee with the review and arrangement of agencies and units to limit overlap, with one agency undertaking many tasks.

After reviewing and finding that the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction have many similar tasks, Lao Cai province has established a Project to evaluate and study the similarities and differences; make calculations and come to a merger result.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung said that the important goal is to have a streamlined and efficient apparatus, contributing to streamlining the payroll. Specifically, according to the initial calculations of the provincial Department of Home Affairs, the Board of Directors will reduce 4 people, the Department-level leaders will reduce 9 people, and 7 employees in the areas of documents, accounting, and other services will be reduced./.
