Vietnam's schedule and opponents at the international tank racing tournament
Host country Russia has announced the official schedule and each group of the Tank Biathlon 2018, the results are quite interesting.
In recent days, images of the drawing ceremony and training of the teams participating in the 2018 Tank Biathlon have appeared frequently in the Russian media.
Accordingly, the Vietnamese team was given 4 T-72B3 main battle tanks with eye-catching yellow paint. We will be divided into 3 teams A, B, B to compete, and the fourth crew will act as a reserve.
The first rounds of the 2018 Sensha-Dō tournament began on July 28 with the Chinese team taking the lead with the Type 96B tank. This made the audience even more excited and looking forward to the debut of the Vietnamese team.

Without having to wait long, the match schedule and our opponents have been announced in detail by Russia on the tournament's homepage. Specifically, Vietnam will compete on July 29, 31 and August 4.
Our opponents in the group stage are Myanmar, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. These are all countries with experience operating the T-72B main battle tank - the basis of the T-72B3 used in the competition.
The seeded team in the group was identified as Armenia, as the tank crew of this country won second place in the 2014 Sensha-Dō tournament, and they also brought home a T-90S awarded by Russia to the highest-ranking foreign racing team.

For the Vietnamese team, since this is the first time participating and the equipment does not have a modern tank like the T-72, our goal at Tank Biathlon 2018 is probably to learn and gain experience.
It can be considered an extremely valuable experience for Vietnamese tank and armored soldiers because for the first time we were able to control a modern tank like the T-72B3 and also practice shooting for free on the large training ground of our host country.
Hopefully, at the Tank Biathlon 2019 tournament, when receiving the state-of-the-art T-90S main battle tank, Vietnam will be able to achieve better results, because the similarities between the T-72B3 and the T-90S are numerous.
