Industrial promotion work needs programs and projects suitable to local characteristics.
(Baonghean.vn) - That was the opinion of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An at the 13th Conference on Industrial Promotion in Northern Provinces, 2018, held on the afternoon of August 1 in Vinh city.
Attending the conference were comrade Ngo Quang Trung - Director of the local Department of Industry and Trade and representatives of agencies and units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
On the side of Nghe An province, there is comradeHuynh Thanh Dien-Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of departments, branches and localities in the province.

According to the report of the local Department of Industry and Trade, the total industrial promotion budget implemented in 2017 of 28 provinces and cities in the Northern region was over 128 billion VND, reaching 95.6% of the yearly plan, an increase of 4.5% compared to the total industrial promotion budget implemented in 2016.
The total budget for national industrial promotion is over 56 billion VND, while the total budget for local industrial promotion is over 72 billion VND.
In the first 6 months of 2018, the total regional budget was over 46 billion VND, reaching 35.4% of the yearly plan, up 9.1% compared to 2017.

In Nghe An alone, in the period 2002 - 2018, the budget supporting industrial promotion activities reached over 70 billion VND. Of which, the local budget supported 53.7 billion VND. Industrial promotion activities in recent years have contributed to promoting the development of industry, small-scale industry and craft village construction in the province.

The organization of the Industrial Promotion Center has been improved, the content of industrial promotion activities in each locality is very diverse and rich; the scale and quality of industrial promotion projects have been improved, contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for workers, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty in rural areas and promoting economic restructuring towards industrial and handicraft development, building new rural areas.
However, industrial promotion activities still have some difficulties and shortcomings that need to be overcome and oriented in the coming time.
At the conference, representatives of the provincial People's Committees, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Industrial Promotion Centers of 28 provinces and cities and representatives of a number of enterprises in the Northern region exchanged experiences and proposed solutions that need to be implemented in the coming time: Training and improving the qualifications of industrial promotion staff; perfecting documents and policies on industrial promotion; increasing mobilized funding sources, integrating other sources besides industrial promotion sources according to the value chain, creating motivation for enterprises to synchronously and continuously implement solutions for enterprise development...
This is an opportunity for localities to enhance information exchange, share experiences, promote cooperation, improve the effectiveness of industrial promotion work, create conditions for rural industrial establishments to have opportunities to cooperate, expand markets; contribute to the development of industrial promotion activities in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An pointed out a number of difficulties and problems in industrial promotion activities of provinces in the Northern region in recent times, such as: Rural areas, especially disadvantaged areas, have not attracted investors to invest in rural industrial production and develop industrial promotion services; officials working in industrial promotion often change and rotate, so the close adherence to the area to develop projects is not effective; information and propaganda work on industrial promotion policies and industrial promotion activities is still limited...
Orienting to improve the quality of industrial promotion work in the coming time, the Deputy Minister suggested that the Industry and Trade sector and local industrial promotion centers need to strengthen solutions to provide information to enterprises to exploit the potential of rural agriculture; support enterprises and craft villages.,Support rural industrial establishments that cause environmental pollution to enter industrial clusters; provinces need to identify the focus and key points of programs and projects that are close to the situation and characteristics of localities in the region.
On this occasion, 5 collectives and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in industrial promotion activities in 2017 received Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Industry and Trade.
