On August 1, the Nghe An Province Interdisciplinary Inspection Team led by the Deputy Director of the Department of Health made a surprise inspection at a hotel on Binh Minh Street, Cua Lo Town. This is one of the new and large-scale hotels in the coastal town; it is currently not classified according to national standards for ranking tourist accommodation establishments.
Before the inspection by the Interdisciplinary Food Safety Inspection Team, this hotel had been fined nearly 40 million VND by the authorities for arbitrarily attaching “stars” without being officially recognized by the competent authority. At the time of the inspection by the Interdisciplinary Food Safety Inspection Team, the hotel was still using the image of 3 stars to advertise its tourist accommodation category; it was only removed when the team firmly requested it.

The food storage area did not ensure food safety and hygiene.
The inspection team has drawn up a record of administrative violations, planning to fine the hotel VND16 million; requiring the hotel to correct the violations and strictly comply with food safety regulations.
