Police urgently searched two locations where Tran Thi Kim Ung and Hoang Van Kien hid drugs in Cai Tat village, An Dong commune and Cach Ha village, Nam Son commune (both An Duong district), confiscating 1,680.71 grams of suspected synthetic drugs (crystal meth, ketamine and ecstasy, currently being examined), 1 car, 1 mobile phone, 2 electronic scales and 1 safe containing 400 million VND and some metal jewelry.
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation and results of the fight against illegal drug transportation projects from other provinces and cities to Hai Phong for consumption, the Department of Investigation Police on Drug Crimes (PC47) - Hai Phong City Police discovered a group gathering drugs from other places to Hai Phong, then distributing them to agents in Hai Phong.
These people used many locations as warehouses and traded with sophisticated tricks to mislead the investigation agency.
The leader of the gang is the "female monster" of Hai Phong, Tran Thi Kim Ung (born in 1987, in Cach Ha village, Nam Son commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong city).
Tran Thi Kim Ung has a criminal record for illegally trading drugs with her accomplices. In 2017, she was tried by the People's Court of Ha Nam province.
Among them, Le Van Tho was sentenced to death, Tran Thi Kim Ung was sentenced to 18 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking. However, Tran Thi Kim Ung was given a suspended sentence because she was raising a child under 36 months old.
Taking advantage of the law, Tran Thi Kim Ung continued to engage in illegal drug trafficking, transportation, and storage with her husband Hoang Van Kien (born in 1989).
