At this time, Mr. Tran Van Huy's family's guava garden is in full bloom. While picking guava with traders, Mr. Huy stopped to share: In early 2017, after researching, he found that the market currently has a large demand for fruit trees. He realized that Taiwanese guava is an easy-to-grow tree, quick to harvest, and suitable for the soil. It has the advantage of delicious fruit and favorable output, so he bought 150 Taiwanese guava seedlings to plant on 3 sao of land. The first crop was full of fruit, about 2 tons of fruit, he thought he would win big. But when it was time to harvest, the guava garden was damaged by fruit flies, causing him to lose everything. Then, he started to research on books, newspapers, and the internet how to care for and prevent pests for guava.

The guava crop after the care process is carried out by him closely and meticulously according to the development of the fruit. He firmly says no to the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. To have good quality guava, he visits the garden regularly, fertilizes regularly and trims branches, limiting pests and diseases. He went all the way to Hoa Binh province to buy specialized bags, when the guava is as big as a big toe, it is wrapped outside until harvest to minimize pests.

Especially when the guava entered the ripening stage, he learned how to make his own sweet and sour bait to trap insects. He mixed brown sugar with vinegar, stirred well to dissolve the solution. Then, put it in a plastic can, plastic bottle, etc., cover it tightly and wait for 3-4 days. When the solution gives off a sweet and sour smell, he has the finished product. Using plastic bottles, drill 1 or 2 holes and attach a cotton ball soaked in homemade bait and hang it on a guava tree branch to catch fruit flies, both protecting the health of the grower and ensuring safety for the user.

Currently, his clean guava growing model is being applied by some households in communes such as Dinh Son, Cam Son, and Long Son.
