Woman faces legal consequences after attending relative's wedding.

(Baonghean.vn) - Meeting a stranger at a friend's wedding, Cúc asked for some and was given drugs to use.

On the morning of August 8th, the People's Court of Thanh Chuong District held a mobile trial for the defendant Lo Thi Cuc (born in 1966) in Que Phong District, residing in Nong village, Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong District, on the charge of "Illegal possession of narcotics".

According to the indictment, at approximately 5:00 AM on April 14, 2018, Lo Thi Cuc took a bus to Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district, to attend a wedding of an acquaintance.

During the wedding ceremony, Cúc met an unknown man and asked, "Do you have any drugs? Can I have some?" The man replied, "Yes," and gave Cúc a package of synthetic drugs.

Cúc took the package of drugs home to Noòng village, Ngọc Lâm commune, Thanh Chương district to use. Eight days later (April 22, 2018), Cúc divided the synthetic drugs, which she had received from a man in Tương Dương district, into smaller packages for personal use, and hid the rest in her house.

As Lo Thi Cuc was putting the divided package of drugs into her left trouser pocket for personal use, she was caught red-handed by the Thanh Chuong District Police Investigation Agency, which seized and sealed the related evidence.

According to the forensic examination report No. 564/KL-PC54(MT) dated April 27, 2018, from the Criminal Technical Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police, the white crystalline substance sample seized during the arrest of Lo Thi Cuc and submitted for examination was identified as synthetic methamphetamine with a weight of 0.85g. The two white crystalline substance samples seized when Lo Thi Cuc handed them over for examination were also identified as synthetic methamphetamine with a weight of 16.78g.

At the investigative agency, Lo Thi Cuc honestly confessed to all her criminal acts, and her confession was consistent with the evidence collected in the case file. The People's Court of Thanh Chuong District sentenced the defendant Lo Thi Cuc to 6 years and 6 months imprisonment for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".
