Nghe An teachers have more than 250 initiatives and experiences in the 2017-2018 school year
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the data stated at the Conference to summarize the 2017-2018 school year and deploy tasks for the 2018-2019 school year organized by the Education Trade Union on the morning of August 10.
Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Tu Phuong - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; representatives of Labor Federations of districts, cities, towns and grassroots trade unions in the education sector.

Currently, Nghe An Education Trade Union directly manages and directs 97 grassroots trade unions with 7,583 employees; coordinates with labor federations of districts, cities and towns to direct 1,495 grassroots trade unions of educational units with 48,359 employees.
In general, the lives, jobs and incomes of public sector officials, teachers and employees are basically stable; non-public units are allowed to sign labor contracts; regimes and policies on wages, career incentives, regional allowances, seniority allowances, social insurance, health insurance, etc. continue to be fully implemented.
Grassroots unions have had many practical solutions to care for the material and spiritual life of cadres, teachers and workers. Unions and professionals actively promote the learning movement, improve academic qualifications and professional skills; participate in competitions, teaching conferences, register for good teaching hours...
Thereby, the quality of the teaching staff was improved, the rate of teachers above training standards increased. By the end of the school year, the rate of teachers above training standards in preschool reached 80%, primary school reached 92%, secondary school reached 87.4%, high school reached 25.5%; there were 259 initiatives and experiences at the industry and provincial levels.

In addition to the achievements, at the conference, representatives of grassroots unions also frankly raised many existing problems and difficulties in reality. Accordingly, the lives of a number of cadres, teachers and workers are still facing difficulties, especially non-public teachers; working conditions and public housing for teachers are still lacking; the role and functions of some grassroots unions are not clear...
Notably, many grassroots unions also expressed concerns about the implementation of organizational restructuring, staff streamlining; criteria for evaluating and ranking non-public teachers; illegal and unethical acts of a number of teachers...
Based on the assessment of achievements, shortcomings and limitations, in the 2018-2019 school year, the Education sector trade union determined to continue to do a good job of propaganda, mobilization, and coordination in implementing political and ideological education, improving the moral qualities and lifestyle of cadres, teachers and workers; taking care of and representing the protection of legitimate rights and interests of cadres, teachers and workers; improving the effectiveness of women's work; strongly innovating the content and methods of trade union activities, focusing on the grassroots level...
