Famous Thai actor arrested on film set
Idol actor Boom was arrested by Thai police on August 8. He is being investigated for fraud and money laundering.
SheetKhaosodreported on August 8 that actor Boom was arrested by police while on set in Bangkok (Thailand). The actor is being investigated for money laundering and fraud.
Responding to the Thai press on August 9, Major General Maitree Chimachart said that the police had arrested the actor born in 2005 along with two accomplices, one male and one female.

Authorities suspect Boom of participating in a fraud ring that defrauded many foreign businessmen. According toMatichon, the amount of fraud could be up to 400 million Baht (about more than 12 million USD).
Lieutenant Colonel Chakrit said the group's method of fraud was mainly through virtual currency on the internet. The group promised to invest in Thailand and Macau but used the investment money for personal purposes.
“During interrogation, Boom denied any wrongdoing. Boom said the bank account in his name was given to his brother for use,” Maj. Gen. Maitree said. However, initial information from the police showed that the actor knew about the transactions on his account.
