On August 15, the Ministry of Public Security continued to announce decisions to appoint leadership positions of many departments. On the same day, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security also handed over the decision to retire five major generals who are leaders of the General Department VIII. Although these five leaders of the General Department and the director have not yet reached retirement age, they voluntarily resigned to facilitate the construction of a new organizational model.

Since August 7, implementing Decree 01 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Public Security, the Minister of Public Security has signed many appointment decisions for the positions of director, deputy director and equivalent of nearly 50 affiliated departments.According to the leader of the Ministry of Public Security, the new organizational arrangement was carried out very actively and resolutely, ensuring the principles of democracy, publicity, transparency, effectiveness and efficiency.

From August 6, according to Decree 01 of the Government, the Ministry of Public Security reduced 6 general departments; reduced 60 department-level units and equivalents to more than 50 departments. The Ministry reduced nearly 300 department-level units, 20 Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Departments were merged into provincial and municipal police. Therefore, provincial police reduced more than 500 department-level units and reduced 1,000 units at the team level.

The Ministry of Public Security also merged many units with similar functions and tasks. For example, the Department of Police Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption merged with the Department of Police Investigation of Smuggling Crimes to form the Department of Police Investigation of Economic Crimes, Corruption, and Smuggling.
