130th Birthday Anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang

Today, the 130th birthday anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang officially took place in An Giang province, his hometown.

On the morning of August 20, a ceremony was held to celebrate the 130th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang in An Giang province, his hometown. From 6:30 a.m., a flower offering ceremony and a rally were held to celebrate the 130th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang.

After the ceremony, there will be a theatrical performance with the theme: "President Ton Duc Thang - The loyal son of the Southern citadel". The ceremony will take place from 8:30 to 10:00, broadcast live on VOV1, Voice of Vietnam and broadcast live on Vietnam Television.

This year's 130th birthday anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang was attended by more than 600 guests, including leaders of the Party, State, central agencies, unions, provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, provincial leaders, departments, agencies, localities; President Ton Duc Thang's family; people in An Giang province and provinces and cities nationwide.

President Ton Duc Thang is a shining example of a communist soldier. He overcame all the harsh challenges in imperialist prisons and the fierceness of war, dedicating his whole life to the cause of national liberation, unifying the country and bringing happiness and prosperity to the people. President Ton Duc Thang devoted his whole life to the Vietnamese Revolution and endured many hardships during 17 years in Con Dao prison.

Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Vo Thi Anh Xuan stated: This is an opportunity for generations to review the life, revolutionary career, great contributions and sacrifices of President Ton Duc Thang, a model of pure revolutionary morality, a friend and comrade in arms of Uncle Ho.

“Uncle Ton Duc Thang was an outstanding worker of the first generation of the Vietnamese working class, a revolutionary activist who helped spread the proletarian revolution in Vietnam. He laid the foundation for the organization and activities of the Vietnamese Trade Union.

“A model, indomitable, resilient Communist; a leader of the Southern Party Committee; a close comrade in arms and successor to President Ho Chi Minh,” said Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

The 130th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang's birth has important political significance, an opportunity for us to look back on the long process spanning three centuries, from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century, clearly seeing the development stages of the Vietnamese Revolution, including the great contributions of President Ton Duc Thang.
