Losing money in gambling and having no money to pay, the rebellious son pretended to be kidnapped to demand ransom from his biological father.

Tam Binh District Police (Vinh Long) said that the agency has just completed the case file to handle the case of a young man who faked being kidnapped and demanded ransom, causing a stir in public opinion.

Nguyen Duc Thang at the police station.

Previously, at noon on August 20, Tam Binh District Police received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (52 years old, residing in Phu Loc Commune, Tam Binh District) that his son Nguyen Duc Thang (22 years old, residing at the same address) was kidnapped and demanded a ransom of 90 million VND.

Upon receiving the report, the police quickly investigated the case and, using professional measures, determined that Thang's kidnapping was fake, so they invited Thang to the police station to work.

At the police station, Thang confessed that due to gambling losses, he owed many people money and was unable to pay, so he made up a story about being kidnapped so that his father could help him pay the debt. He also confessed that by using this method, Thang had repeatedly tricked his father out of nearly one billion dong.
