Foreign Ministry announces date new sanctions against Russia take effect
Sanctions related to the “Skripal case” will come into force on August 27 after they are published in the Federal Register, a representative of the US State Department told Sputnik.

It was previously reported that the first package of sanctions related to the Skripal case came into force on August 22. However, the official website of the official newspaper of the US government Federal Register did not publish them on that day.
“The statutory notice period expires on August 22. We have entered into a notice in the Federal Register that puts the sanctions into effect, and we expect it to be published on August 27,” an agency representative said.
