The Russian Federation considers the recent statement on Syria by US President's national security adviser John Bolton as a threat and an ultimatum – this seems to be the only language of the United States at the moment.

Moscow, in turn, warned Washington and its allies against new moves on Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.
Ahead of a meeting with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Bolton told reporters in Geneva that "the United States sees the Syrian regime's plans to continue its military offensive in Idlib province" and that the United States would respond strongly "if the Syrian regime uses chemical weapons."

Later, Bloomberg news agency, citing sources, said that during the talks, Bolton told the Secretary of the Russian Security Council that Washington was ready to launch a military strike on Syrian government forces stronger than before, if they used chemical weapons.
"We have heard Washington's ultimatums, including public statements, but this does not affect our determination to continue pursuing the complete elimination of the hotbed of terrorism in Syria and the return of normal life in the country," Ryabkov said. "We warn the United States and its allies against new hasty steps," the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister added.
