In a key speech aimed at redefining his agenda, Macron stated: "Europe's security should no longer depend on the United States; ensuring the continent's security is something we decide."

Speaking before approximately 250 diplomats, parliamentarians, and international relations experts, President Macron said his proposals would be revealed "in the coming months." The French leader emphasized: "I want us to conduct a thorough review of our security situation with all our European partners, including Russia."

The French president's remarks came after a series of moves by US President Donald Trump that showed Washington was gradually distancing itself from its traditional NATO allies.
