Nghe An won 4 medals at the national professional music and dance festival
(Baonghean.vn) - The professional music and dance festival is an opportunity for singers and dancers in art troupes to exchange, learn and demonstrate their talents; thereby clearly reflecting the professional music and dance movement of each locality.
The 4 medal-winning performances of Nghe An delegation included 1 solo performance "Oh, what a girl's fate" by musician Trong Dai performed by singer Que Thuong, which won a Gold Medal; 3 Silver Medals for the performances: Group singing "Lang Sen - Dai Sen" - Composer: Doan Nguyen; Solo singing "Trai que toi" - Composer: Pham Phuong Thao; Group singing "Chao ngay moi" - Composer: Trinh Quang Thuan.

The professional music and dance program is held every 3 years. This year, the program is divided into two clusters and held twice; cluster 1 in Cao Bang province in June 2018; cluster 2 is held in Da Nang city from August 20 to August 31; Cluster 2 Festival gathers 17 professional music and dance troupes across the country, of which the Central region has 5 troupes from 5 provinces participating.

The program of Nghe An delegation participating in this Festival is called “The Soul of Nghe An Countryside”. Part I is the performances developed on Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs with the image of Lam River running through.
Part II: To the West is a repertoire of folk songs from the Nghe An mountainous region, inspired by cultural features in the daily life of the Thai people such as the custom of opening village festivals, pounding rice and carving furrows; the Khmu people, with the custom of celebrating a new house, a good harvest, and carrying fire; and the Mong people with ideas in the melodies of cu xia, lu tau le le tu le...

Participating in this Festival, Nghe An delegation won a more modest number of medals than the previous one. “However, we are also considered to be a unit that has built its own identity through the content of the participating program. Unfortunately, the performances that were well received and highly appreciated by the audience in terms of content; the performances with the folk music of Nghe An mountains that were expected to win medals did not win any awards.” - Musician Quoc Chung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe said.
