Despite receiving money from Ms. Long, Mr. Huynh Be failed to secure a job for her and did not return the money.
During the investigation, Huynh Be also confessed that from 2013 to 2017, he received a total of 890 million VND to bribe officials to secure jobs for 11 other people. Of these, 8 cases involved promises of employment as state-employed teachers.
And there were three instances where people were promised contract teaching positions at the school where Mr. Be was the principal. However, Huynh Be was unable to secure these positions for any of the eleven individuals.
The Krông Pắk District Police also received complaints from six other individuals totaling over 1 billion VND. However, Huỳnh Bê claimed that he only borrowed money from these people as a matter of course and that it was not related to job applications.
