Mong people enjoy bull fighting festival on Independence Day
(Baonghean.vn) - It has become a tradition that on this occasion, Mong people in the highland communes of Ky Son excitedly organize bull fighting festivals to celebrate Independence Day.

On the morning of September 2, Mr. Ly Chia Xa, Tien Tieu village, Nam Can commune, led the biggest and strongest bull to Muong Xen town to participate in the bull fighting competition. Mr. Chia Xa shared: "During festivals and happy Tet holidays like this, the Mong people cannot lack bull fighting and buffalo fighting. The bull fighting festival shows the solidarity of the Mong people."

Participating in the bull fighting festival on Independence Day this year are 80 bulls, selected from highland communes such as: Muong Long, Huoi Tu, Tay Son, Nam Can and Ta Ca.

The Mong people in Ky Son celebrate Independence Day from August 31st to September 2nd. To attend the festival, the Mong people have to prepare many days in advance. They choose their most beautiful and colorful clothes. During these days, in all the villages, the red flag with yellow star fluttering in the wind, combined with the bright colors of the Mong people's costumes, creates a splendid picture with many colors, making the Tet atmosphere in the highlands and border areas more bustling.

These days in Ky Son, in addition to enjoying the bull fighting festival, the Thai, Mong, and Kho Mu ethnic groups also resound with the sounds of their flutes and songs that are imbued with the identity of their homeland.
