Tuong Duong youth help people dismantle and relocate houses
(Baonghean.vn) - The recent floods have left serious consequences for the people of Minh Phuong village, Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong). Nearly 130 members of the Youth Union have been mobilized to help people overcome the consequences of the floods.
Most of the households in Minh Phuong village, Luong Minh commune, live along the left bank of the Nam Non river. After the flood receded, landslides occurred, 35 houses in the village were at risk of landslides and being swept away by water, threatening the safety of property and life.

In that situation, from September 3-5, 2018, Tuong Duong District Youth Union mobilized nearly 130 Youth Union members from Yen Hoa, Yen Thang, Nga My, Xieng My, Yen Tinh and Luu Kien communes to help people in Minh Phuong village overcome the consequences of floods. In the immediate future, Youth Union members helped 35 households at risk of landslides and floods to dismantle their houses and relocate to a safe location.

At the same time, young people went to the forest to harvest bamboo and rattan to help people build temporary shelters, ensuring safety in bad weather. On this occasion, Tuong Duong youth presented 35 gifts (including blankets, mosquito nets, rice and clean water, worth 300,000 VND/gift) to support families affected by the consequences of the flood. The funding was mobilized from contributions from Youth Union members throughout the district.

Mr. Vi Dinh Phuc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Luong Minh Commune said: "Language near the foot of Ban Ve hydroelectric dam, Luong Minh commune suffered severe consequences when the hydroelectric plant released floodwaters. Currently, the recovery work is still very messy, especially not finding a new housing plan for 35 households in Minh Phuong village. Youth Union members of the communes have promptly helped people dismantle, move houses and build temporary shelters."
