Memorial service for Emperor Quang Trung and prayers for heroic martyrs
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 6, at the Temple of Emperor Quang Trung (Dung Quyet Mountain, Vinh City), the People's Committee of Vinh City coordinated with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An Province to organize a Grand Ceremony to commemorate Emperor Quang Trung and pray for the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the nation's resistance wars.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Religious Affairs Department - Department of Home Affairs, Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, relevant departments and branches, leaders of Vinh city and a large number of monks, nuns and Buddhists.

The memorial and prayer ceremony is a meaningful activity on the occasion of the 226th anniversary of the death of Emperor Quang Trung (July 29, 1792 - July 29, 2018), the 230th anniversary of Phuong Hoang Trung Do, and the 73rd anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2018).
At the ceremony, delegates and a large number of monks, nuns and Buddhists offered incense to commemorate and express gratitude for the great contributions of Emperor Quang Trung - a hero in cloth with outstanding military talent who raised the red flag, led the people to repel foreign invaders and protect the Fatherland. He was also a king with many reforms to revive the country, and his merits were praised by generations of people.

Along with that, the rituals were performed solemnly and respectfully, aiming to pray for the souls of heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the nation's resistance wars.
The ceremony not only expresses the people's deep gratitude for the great contributions of Emperor Quang Trung and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland, but also has the meaning of educating the younger generation to be proud, preserve and promote the heroic fighting tradition of the nation, thereby promoting the youth's strength to build the homeland and country to become increasingly rich and civilized./.
