Tragedy in Indonesia: Bus plunges into ravine, 21 people killed
The driver lost control and the car plunged into a 30-meter deep ravine on Java Island, killing 21 people and seriously injuring nine others.

The staff bus from PT Catur Putra group in Bogor town, West Java province was going to a tourist spot in Sukabumi district when the accident happened at noon.
Local police spokesman Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said the bus carrying 37 people plunged into a 30-meter-deep ravine after the driver lost control of the vehicle in an area with steep inclines.
"We believe the accident happened because the brakes failed," said Galih Bayu Raditya, head of the traffic department at the local police station, according toAFP.
In addition to the 21 dead, nine people on the bus were seriously injured, according to a spokesman at Pelabuhanratu hospital, Taufik.
In February, 27 people were killed when a tourist bus returning from a trip plunged down a hill in Subang, West Java province. Two months later, two accidents in West Java’s mountainous Puncak region killed at least 15 people.
