Lightning struck and injured two people harvesting rice in the field.
(Baonghean.vn) - At around 3:00 p.m. on September 14, while people were harvesting rice in Tong Xam field, Luc Da commune (Con Cuong), lightning struck, killing one person and causing another to faint.
Hua Na villagers said the lightning struck very suddenly because at that time many people were taking advantage of the sunny weather to harvest rice. Everyone only had time to hear the loud thunder and the lightning flashing across the fields.

Immediately, Mr. Ha Van Binh (born in 1966) collapsed in the rice field. When people came to their senses and approached, they saw that he had died on the spot, with a black mark on his body from the top of his head to his back. Ms. Y Xiem (born in 1990) who was also in a nearby field was struck by lightning and fainted. Her family took her to the Southwest Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment.
