Nghe An: Expanding Vinh airport by 58.27 hectares
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the Vinh City People's Committee, Vinh airport will be expanded by 58.27 hectares to implement the project to upgrade the International Passenger Terminal with a total investment of 2,600 billion VND.
On September 5, 2018, Vietnam Airports Corporation JSC sent an official dispatch to the People's Committee of Nghe An province regarding the plan to implement key projects at Vinh airport; accordingly, Vietnam Airports Corporation said that it is implementing the policy of the Government and the Ministry of Transport in the strategy to develop the infrastructure of Vinh airport system to meet the development needs of the Vietnamese aviation market according to the transport development plan to 2020, with a vision to 2030.

Vietnam Airports Corporation is implementing a project to upgrade the old domestic passenger terminal to an international passenger terminal and is preparing to implement a number of key projects such as:
Project to build Passenger Terminal T2, designed capacity of 5 million passengers/year; total investment of about 1,600 billion VND; Project to build aircraft parking lot with designed capacity of 10 parking positions for code E aircraft, total investment of about 1,000 billion VND. These projects are expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2019, completed and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Accordingly, the project will take an additional 58.27 hectares of land and request the locality to clear the land. The land clearance locations include: Land of the Guard Company - Vinh Airport Base Battalion; land of Vietnam Aviation Petroleum Company Limited; land of VOD station and the remaining area under the management of Nghi Lien commune.
In which, the T2 passenger terminal project has an area of 36.82 hectares, the aircraft parking area: 21.45 hectares.
The investor also requested the locality to complete site clearance before the first quarter of 2018.
Mr. Ha Thanh Tinh - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee said: Vinh City agreed on the project implementation plan: Construction of Passenger Terminal T2 - Vinh International Airport according to the approved plan; at the same time, actively coordinated with the investor to carry out the survey and measurement work to determine the boundaries and areas to be cleared according to regulations.
The city also requested the investor to provide relevant legal documents (1/500 scale detailed construction planning; investment policy document; project approval decision; field boundary marking documents...) and organize work with the City People's Committee to unify the plan to implement site clearance work in sync with the construction implementation plan to meet the set schedule.
Previously, on August 2, a working delegation of Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) worked with the People's Committee of Nghe An province on the Vinh International Airport Development Investment Project.
