Updating knowledge and skills on social evil prevention for union officials
(Baonghean.vn) - Updating the situation of drug prevention and control; skills, methods of mobilization, lessons learned, good practices to join hands to push back drug, prostitution, HIV/AIDS... are the contents of the training conference on social evil prevention and control in the North Central region, organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Vinh City from September 19 to 21.
Attending the conference were Lieutenant Colonel Le Tien Trung - Department of Drug Crime Prevention, Ministry of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hao - Director of the Central Youth Center; representatives of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and many union officials and propagandists of the North Central cluster.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hao emphasized that currently, the work of preventing and combating social evils is facing many difficulties and challenges, in which the situation of buying, selling and using synthetic drugs is extremely complicated.
Although the number of people infected with HIV and AIDS has decreased, there are still many potential problems. Prostitution is becoming younger and more complicated, especially in disguised activities at service establishments.

In recent years, the work of preventing and combating social evils has been identified by the Youth Union at all levels as an important task. Many policies and solutions have been implemented, notably propaganda activities to raise awareness among union members and young people.
The conference is also one of the practical activities to provide information; exchange experiences and practical lessons; raise awareness and the role of Youth Union officials in preventing and combating social evils.

At the conference, representatives from many provinces and cities took turns expressing their opinions and asking and answering questions about issues arising in the practice of organizing communication activities. Representatives from the Department of Drug Crime Prevention - Ministry of Public Security, and the Department of Social Evil Prevention of Nghe An province answered and provided useful information to the delegates.
