Overcoming loopholes and shortcomings in asset auction management

Attending the conference were comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, and representatives of leaders of sectors in the Internal Affairs Bloc.

According to the evaluation report at the conference, during the month, the sectors in the Internal Affairs sector have well implemented the tasks of their units. The armed forces continued to strictly maintain combat readiness, well organized the district-level defense area drills in Do Luong district; focused on overcoming the consequences of storms and floods in mountainous districts (Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Anh Son).

Internal security, economic security, cultural-ideological security, and information security were generally stable. During the month, due to the impact of low pressure, some mountainous districts experienced prolonged heavy rains, forcing hydroelectric dams in the area to discharge floodwaters, causing the water levels of rivers to rise, resulting in widespread flooding. Taking advantage of the incident, some individuals in Tuong Duong district spread rumors of "Ban Ve hydroelectric dam breaking", causing panic among the people.

The authorities have proactively grasped, analyzed, forecasted the situation and synchronously deployed forces and measures to prevent and stop reactionary and opposing elements; promptly advised the Party Committee and the government to resolve outstanding and complicated cases related to complaints among the people, not allowing the formation of "hot spots" of security and order.

Many major drug cases have been solved, and a large amount of evidence has been seized. Authorities have discovered and arrested 65 cases and 72 subjects (6 cases and 12 subjects less than last month); seized 4 kg of heroin and 1,450 synthetic drug pills. Notably, 4 major drug trafficking rings and locations have been destroyed in Vinh city, Hoang Mai town, and Ky Son.

During the month, the whole province received 709 citizens (down 4.4% compared to August 2018), the main contents related to areas such as land management, site clearance compensation, implementation of social policies, policies for people with meritorious services, etc.

The report also pointed out the current complicated situation such as some extremist priests continue to preach and speak ill of the government; the management of mineral exploitation is still limited; in asset auction activities, many subjects take the opportunity to lower prices for profit; the progress of resolving some cases and lawsuits under the direction of the Provincial Party Committee is still slow, etc.

The conference also agreed to deploy tasks in October 2018, focusing on a number of contents such as advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue directive documents on ensuring security and order; actively advising and coordinating to resolve emerging situations related to national security, not allowing complicated situations to arise; overcoming loopholes and shortcomings in asset auction management; developing a plan to inspect the recovery of assets misappropriated and lost in criminal cases of corruption and economic crimes, preparing to launch a peak period of attacks and crackdowns on crimes and firecracker production and trading activities during the 2019 Tet holiday, etc.
