Mourinho complains about Man Utd players' attitude
Man Utd manager believes Wolves deserve a point away from Old Trafford in round 6 of the Premier League.
"The attitude of the two teams in this match was different," said coach Jose Mourinho. "The Man Utd players did not satisfy me. Wolves showed determination from the first minute. I do not understand why they had such good spirit, as if they were playing in the World Cup final. This result is reasonable because my students were not creative enough, did not move much and lacked explosive moments."
Mourinho hinted that his students forgot the basics of football, which is to play with maximum concentration. Photo:Manchester United. |
Midfielder Paul Pogba was involved in both goals, providing a fine assist for Fred to open the scoring in the 18th minute. But he also lost possession in his own half, leading to Joao Moutinho's equaliser early in the second half. It was also during this time that Pogba largely disappeared, failing to make any further impact.
"Players learn about attitude from the youth academy. They don't need experience at the top level to understand that. Attitude is fundamental in football. Every player needs to play with maximum effort and concentration. Unless we play in a weak league with far inferior opponents, then playing with 20% is enough. But the Premier League is not that case," Mourinho clarified.
The draw left Man Utd with only 10 points after six matches, temporarily ranked sixth before the match series on September 23.
