Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation has officially released information regarding the power outage that disrupted access to numerous online newspapers, websites, games, and the Zalo application on September 23rd.

According to the information, in accordance with the power outage plan for grid repair work (replacing 2 cable ends at substation T8-9 and 1 cable end at substation T12-13), on Tuesday (September 18th), An Phu Dong Power Company ( thuộc EVN Ho Chi Minh City) sent a document to Quang Trung Software Park informing them of the plan to temporarily suspend power supply to carry out the above work on Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on September 23rd.

This document requests that Quang Trung Software Park coordinate with businesses within the park to inform them of the electricity sector's plan and prepare backup power sources for replacement. Quang Trung Software Park confirms that it has already notified the businesses.

On Sunday morning (September 23), the power sector carried out a power outage as previously announced. Businesses in the park, including VNG, used backup power sources to supply electricity.

"During the operation of the backup generator, VNG experienced a malfunction, causing a power outage that affected the provision of technical services for operating online news websites and online newspapers. After the incident, An Phu Dong Power Company coordinated with VNG to resolve the issue," information from EVN Ho Chi Minh City stated.

According to observations by a reporter from VietnamPlus online newspaper at 7:20 PM, websites such as thanhnien.vn, zing.vn, toquoc.vn, vov.vn, baomoi.com, etc., have resumed operation. However, vinadata.vn and VNG's Zalo application are still inaccessible.
