105mm warhead explosion causes 5 casualties

Mr. Thang used a 105mm artillery shell as a support while welding gas, accidentally causing an explosion that killed him, his daughter-in-law and grandson.

On the morning of October 1, in Tran Van Thoi town, Ca Mau province, a 105mm warhead exploded, killing three people in a local family and injuring two others.

The deceased victims were identified as Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, 52 years old, his 21 year old daughter-in-law and 3 year old grandson.

The two injured people were Mrs. Le Hong Anh, 53 years old, Mr. Thang's wife and a neighbor of Mr. Thang.

According to initial information from local authorities, the accident occurred when Mr. Thang used a 105mm artillery shell as a stand to weld gas to make household appliances, causing the explosion.

At the scene, the explosion left a hole about 0.5 m deep and more than 1 m in diameter. Around the house, many objects were broken...
