General Secretary: "The 8th Central Conference includes many important issues"

The 8th Central Conference, 12th tenure opened this morning, Tuesday (October 2) and will last until October 6.

In his opening speech, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that the conference took place right at the mid-term; 2018 is a pivotal year, of special significance for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the starting year for preparations for the 13th National Congress.
The content of this conference includes many important issues, directly related to the leadership and direction of the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, building a clean and strong Party set forth by the 12th Congress and preparing for the successful organization of the 13th Congress.

The General Secretary suggested that the conference promote a high sense of responsibility, focus on research, discuss enthusiastically, and give opinions to complete reports, projects, draft resolutions, and conclusions of the Central Committee, and consider and decide at the end of the session.
During the 5-day conference, the Central Committee will review and discuss: Report on the socio-economic situation, finance and state budget in 2018, plan for 2019; summarize 10 years of implementing Resolution of the 4th Central Committee, Session X on Vietnam's Marine Strategy to 2020; Regulations on exemplary responsibility of Party members and cadres, first of all Politburo members, Secretariat members, Central Committee members; establish sub-committees to prepare for the 13th National Party Congress; review personnel work and a number of other important issues.
