"Russia will not create barriers to international economic relations. We will not isolate ourselves from the global market, and we will certainly not ignore it. One of our priorities is to expand Russia's role in global trade, to create additional value chains, to participate in foreign trade associations and agreements," Medvedev wrote.
Russia plans to remove regulatory barriers to transport, liberalize the exchange rate for exports, and ease visa regimes for tourists on a reciprocal basis, Prime Minister Medvedev said. Russia has avoided economic and political crises, he said.
“We have prevented a macroeconomic crisis (and especially a financial crisis), alleviated financial problems without a serious increase in debt dependence, avoided a crisis of the banking system. More importantly, Russia has escaped the trap of a political crisis,” he noted.
The Russian prime minister added that Moscow has a stable state budget and low government debt. He said the government had succeeded in bringing inflation down to a level that ensured macroeconomic stability for the first time in nearly 30 years.
Under these conditions, the cabinet of ministers is tasked primarily with "using positive potential and promptly neutralizing risks," Medvedev stressed.
“The current agenda includes implementing structural and institutional reforms that will enable businesses to unleash their full potential, remove excessive barriers in labor and capital markets, and ensure productive growth,” he stressed. “The main goal is to lay a sustainable foundation for improving people’s well-being.

In addition, Prime Minister Medvedev said that Moscow will fight against the plots of other countries to block Russia's activities in the international arena.
"Every time our country is active in the international arena, there are powerful attempts to hinder us. We will never ignore this tendency, and we will actively fight for a better place in the world economy and politics," Medvedev wrote.
The Russian Prime Minister commented: "The sudden politicization of international economic relations is another consequence of the turbulent times. An approach based on force, trade wars, artificial barriers that go against economic calculations, politically motivated obstacles that stand in the way of mutually beneficial projects, are what is happening today, and we need to pay attention to it"./.
