Contestants are students studying at universities, colleges and vocational high schools nationwide.

Contestants will write articles, make video clips, and sketches reflecting the reality of climate change affecting life in Vietnam. At the same time, they will propose ideas, initiatives, solutions, and models to respond to climate change, especially to respond to the complicated drought and saltwater intrusion in our country.

Climate change is the most serious challenge to the sustainable development of all countries in the world. If we do not respond effectively to climate change, the achievements of socio-economic development will be damaged, the sustainable development process will face many difficulties, or even be impossible to achieve.

According to climate change predictions in Vietnam, by the end of the 21st century, about 40% of the Mekong Delta, 11% of the Red River Delta and 3% of other coastal areas will be flooded. At that time, about 10-12% of Vietnam's population will be directly affected, with a loss of about 10% of GDP.

Nghe An is one of the localities strongly affected by climate change. Rising sea levels and saltwater intrusion have greatly affected people's lives and coastal infrastructure.

The organizers hope that through the gala program at Vinh University, the students studying at the school will do a good job of communicating about climate change, providing the community with certain knowledge to cope with climate change in real life.

Contest rules and detailed information are posted on the website: cuocthi.moitruong.net.vn.

Within the framework of the ceremony, the contest organizers, leaders of Vinh University and more than 500 students walked to propagate about climate change along the route from Le Duan Street to Ben Thuy Bridge, Ecological Road along Lam River and vice versa.
