Kensington Palace delighted fans today when it announced that Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is pregnant with her first childwith Prince Harry. The baby is expected to be born next spring.

According toMail,This child, whether boy or girl, will be right behind his father in the line of succession to the British throne, pushing Prince Andrew, Prince Charles' younger brother, down to eighth place.

Currently, in the line of succession, Prince Charles is number one, Prince William is number two, followed by William's three children (Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis), Prince Harry is number six and Prince Andrew is number seven.

The special thing is that the child will not "automatically" be titled prince or princess after birth. According to a document issued by King George V in 1917, the children of the Prince of Wales are called princes or princesses. However, if they are grandchildren, only children born to the eldest son of the Prince of Wales will be called princes and princesses at birth.

Accordingly, Harry and Meghan's child will be Lord Mountbatten-Windsor (if male) or Lady Mountbatten-Windsor (if female). The child can only be a princess or prince if the Queen of England intervenes and changes the rules.
