Ukraine confirms US serviceman killed in Su-27 crash
On October 17, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that the second crew member of the Su-27UB that crashed in the Vinnitsa region was a soldier serving in the US Air National Guard.

"The second crew member is a soldier of the US Air National Guard," the press center of the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine issued a statement on the Su-27UB plane crash in Vinnitsa region. According to the agency, two pilots, American and Ukrainian servicemen, died.
However, not long after that, the General Staff deleted the news about the US soldier.
Not long before the incident, the exercise simulated a battle between two Su-27 and F-15 aircraft, with the victory belonging to the Su-27 aircraft thanks to its superior maneuverability.
